Welcome to Working for Better Life

Established in 1995 as an organization committed to promote Social Debate Program among teen age school students across the country, WBL has launched debate clubs in more than 700 schools and madrashas so far.

From school based debate program, it shifted to organize debate camps in various places from 2001 and in 2003 it settled its outdoor camps in the southern sea shore island called Kuakata.

From 2008, it shifted its focus from rights related activities to programs around the issue of livelihood. By then, WBL knew thousands of valiant debaters dropped out from high schools due to financial weaknesses and looked around for livelihoods. Also in Kuakata, its focus with school going kids to prevent them from ‘early marriage’ or ‘equal rights to girl children’ was unsuccessful due to the absence of livelihood programs.

Since then, WBL is thinking about their sustainable economic livelihood before anything else.
